Understand that you being a good person does not absolve you of problematic things. Being a good person can be how you start a conversation but not how you end a conversation.
I see so many people whose argument is “just be a good person” and I am like being a good person means you hold yourself accountable. Being a good person means you work on your biases and problematic behavior.
Being a good person means you always are working on yourself. So if you are telling people to “just be a good person” you need to think what you mean by that and is it stopping education and learning.
Let’s be honest, everyone thinks they are a good person. No one is like I am actually a shitty person. 
So your comment of a good person should always be followed by a comma, and, but. I am a good person but, and, I need to work on these things.

“Good person” stops learning and can be what people just hold on it. Let’s step out of the binaries and just focus on working on self.
