Protesting at the jail. Over the past 150 days, many protesters have been unjustly arrested and ended up in jail.
Many comrades have gone to the jail to support these people. It’s much appreciated and needed work. But remember — the jail is FULL of people getting fucked over by the very system we’re protesting against.
Demos at the jail that are too loud or rowdy can cause the jail to go on “lock down.” That means every single person inside can’t see their lawyer. That means releases are delayed. That means court hearings might not happen.
If you go to the jail to welcome an arrested comrade back to freedom, keep this in mind. Don’t make things worse for everyone else stuck inside. Peace policing is garbage, but don’t hurt the ones we are fighting for. #seattleprotest #seattleprotests
