As someone who worked in healthcare and sex work, I’d argue there is spiritual fulfilment in what I do. The close beautiful bonds I have with my wonderful fans enriches my life and theirs , I have a creative outlet, and I have time to study and learn when I don’t work. https://twitter.com/_channelone_/status/1323276328607514631
The biggest reason for leaving the NHS was the guilt that I never felt like I was doing enough for anyone. I was so overworked i couldn’t give someone the proper care they needed without 7 other suffering. I saw much worse in that industry than I did in my current one.
I don’t think we all need to have a job that obviously helps others, some people’s days are made by a smile from a cashier, sometimes the sunny attitude of a call operator keeps you going! There are hero’s, and people who perform small heroic actions daily.
