Problem for the Future of the Republican Party: among the collegiate crowd, there's nothing you can do to more quickly ostracize yourself than identify explicitly as a fan of Trump/GOP. Seriously, dudes with a credible history of sexual assault have more of a chance than Repubs
I only met a single person who explicitly identified as a republican in college. It's social suicide for most any young person growing up. GOP can attempt to rectify this or just say bon voyage to the increasing number of americans who will have to get degrees at lib universities
Meanwhile, on the side of the left, you have swarths of dudes who will pretend to be woke, talk about being feminists/allys, and go to rallies, all in order to get laid...and it works!
GOP just has to hope that the increasing % of Americans who get college degrees in future decades, and become progressives (which they will do out of earnest idealism or just to fit in with their peers), will turn conservative years later. Honestly? doesn't seem likely to me.
For the past decade, the GOP has clearly put its hopes on winning the white working class vote (and has done so successfully). But by all metrics, this is a shrinking class of people, Look at USA demographic projections for 2040/2050. How does today's GOP win in *that* America?
