As part of the platform, this morning we submitted draft executive orders urging Gov. @andrewcuomo & @PhilMurphyNJ to take action:
1) Halt the expansion of ICE prisons
2) Suspend all transfers to ICE, including from transfers from DOC custody

This is important because last week @PhilMurphyNJ signed legislation that would allow people nearing the end of their sentence to be released from NJ prison custody due to #COVID19
But there is *nothing* in the bill preventing ICE from re-detaining people after their release

The releases are set to begin *this week*
Meanwhile, ICE enforcement in NY & NJ is increasing, and those recently released from state prison custody are most vulnerable.
