Covid Poses 1000 fold difference risk between the old and young. Yet we have spent:

78% of Testing resources allocated to 15% of the Risk.

22% of Testing resources allocated to 85% of the Risk

** Corrected** - earlier had chart with incorrect testing rates.

1/
Imagine if we flipped this? And allocated Testing resources according to their risk? Perhaps we'd get a better outcomes for our testing strategy?

Since increased testing is not leading to decreased mortality

2/
What if we had priority testing for elderly folks, or cheap and fast at-home tests that individuals could use before visiting an elderly loved one?

As opposed to treating everyone as if they are all infectious all the time and start educating people about true risks

3/
Instead of treating kids and young people as if they are all major risk vectors to themselves and others all the time, leading to cancellation of social and public goods because we can't guarantee viral transmission won't occur- Perhaps we remind ourselves how seasonal...

4/
respiratory illnesses spread among young folks during winter, when we were all perfectly fine with that risk.

In fact, the phenomena that Covid poses even less of a risk to kids than the ones we were used to living with our entire existence.

5/
And perhaps we spent our public health information campaigns on emphasizing this lopsided equation, in order to empower citizens with choice- choice to protect those at risk in a focused manor, and to optimize life for those who simply aren't, and done more harm by "protection."
