It's time for a #NaNoWriMo 🧵of all the analog and software tools I use to fast draft!

I picked up these tricks drafting 3-6k a day when I was a contemporary romance ghostwriter. Hopefully you'll find some new tips in here to help you crack the 1667 words a day code.
FOR THE PLANNER: Those who enjoy nanowrimo's graph display should check out http://pacemaker.press . A highly customizable goal-setting display allows you to niche down your writing goals by wordcount, project type, and timeline. It kept me on track when I was working as a ghost!
FOR THE PROCRASTINATOR: I'm obsessed with http://4thewords.com , an online RPG that assigns wordcount to monsters you battle by writing in the user-friendly word processor. Timed battles make this a perfect tool for writers who drag their feet, all for only four bucks a month!
FOR THE EDITOR: The Alphasmart is a lo-fi word processor that only displays four lines of text at a time. Perfect for pouring out words without being tempted to scroll backwards and edit, you can pick up one for under $50. Transfer words to your laptop w/ an easy USB connection!
FOR THE MAD SCIENTIST: Scrivener ( http://www.literatureandlatte.com ) can be overwhelming for newbies, but with patience, it's fantastic for those who like to draft out of order, dump ideas on notecards, and hop from brainstorming to drafting and back again. Only use the features you need!
FOR THE WARRIOR: I confess my disposition is too delicate for https://v2.writeordie.com/  but I know plenty who swear by this clean, minimalist online word processor that administers consequences, everything from loud sounds to deleting your work, if you stop writing during a sprint.
FOR THE ROMANTIC: Nothing hits quite like writing with pen and paper, especially since it travels well and eliminates the temptation of internet. This is my secret for the brainstorming phase; it unlocks creative blockages. Choose unlined, ruled, or dotted for max inspiration!
FOR THE SOCIAL ANIMAL: Sprints are great for cramming lotsa words into a small amount of time, and doing them with others is double the fun. Plus there's good peer pressure. Find a nano group on http://discord.com  (DM me for recs) and jump into some digital writing races!
