1⃣ #Volunteering is critical to the nation's coronavirus response as well as the sustainability of many volunteer-involving organisations. The announcement of a national #lockdown means another shift in how we #volunteer. Here are the basics ⬇️⬇️⬇️ (thread)
2⃣ Yes, you can still go outside to volunteer or help out your neighbours, but:
- only where your volunteering activity cannot be done from home, and
- you / your household is free of coronavirus symptoms and hasn't tested positive recently
3⃣ Safety first! Workplaces should be COVID-secure and you should follow the rules on washing hands 👏, wearing a face covering 😷, and social distancing ↔️.
4⃣ Voluntary and charitable activities are exempt from restrictions on travel and group size. This means people can:
🚗 travel to volunteer or while volunteering
👨‍👩‍👧 meet in groups of any size indoors or outdoors while volunteering
5⃣ People who are clinically extremely vulnerable to the effects of the virus should only volunteer from home 🏠

Other clinically vulnerable people (aged 60+ / pregnant/ underlying health conditions) should follow the same rules as everyone else but minimise contact with others
