TODD ROKITA AND RACE (thread)
In a hollow tribute to MLK, Todd Rokita said, "Today we honor a life spent fighting for the rights of millions. Martin Luther King Jr. is an example for us all. We must never stop fighting. #MLKDay"
Here's the problem with that:

Todd Rokita's record on race is abysmal. If he's AG, don't expect any law enforcement reform, because to Todd, the only problem with police is that they don't have ENOUGH power. His pledge to "fight lawlessness in our streets" is the dogwhistle we've come to expect.

To Todd, THE PROBLEM IS THE KNEELING ATHLETE who simply doesn't realize that racism is over. "There are past injustices," he says, "that we are still addressing as a nation but actions such as kneeling during the national anthem only fuel division."

But back to MLK, who famously wrote that a bigger problem than the Klan was the white moderate "who is more devoted to order than to justice" and who says, "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action."
Sound familiar, Todd?

Bad news, Todd: If you don't appreciate the efforts and perspective of Colin Kaepernick, you would have HATED MLK, just like 2/3 of Americans did during his work with civil rights. Your ignorance of history and devotion to its wrongs are your defining characteristics.

Would the memory of Breonna Taylor receive justice under Attorney General Todd Rokita?
Would George Floyd?
Would Ahmaud Arbery?
Would Priscilla Slater?
Would Daniel Prude?
Say their names? He would never even hear their names.
