I love the overly-complicated - almost to the point of surrealist - interiors of THE DARK CORNER. Lights, shadows, windows, depth of field ... it's almost phantasmagorical. It's like "how MUCH can we throw into the frame, do ya think?"
And then there are the outdoor night scenes - which ALSO feature crazy complicated and crowded frames. Like this. Rear-view mirror alert!
And this. Velvety-black night punctuated by neon signs which seem detached from any architectural structure ... it's reality pushed to its most extreme.
And finally, THE DARK CORNER features Lucille Ball in a batting cage. What more can one want.
