(1/5) @PMOIndia, @DefenceMinIndia and Three Chiefs. One Rank One Pension (OROP) was made effective from 01 Jul 2014. Instead of granting pensions of base year 2014 to all past pensioners, average of base year 2013 pensions were implemented.
(2/5) 2. Also instead of change of rate of pension to be automatically passed to the passed pensioners, the revision of pension was made periodically (Five years). By creating these serious anomalies, the concept of OROP as defined in the MoD letter No 12 (01)/2014-D (Pen/Pol)
(3/5) dated 26th Feb 2014 was totally destroyed resulting into One Rank different pension. Further, the changes in the concept would continue to have adverse financial effects on pensions in perpetuity.
3. The Govt does not even blink while granting
(4/5) Non Functional upgrade (NFU) to the bureaucrats and other Central services, costing Rs 27,700 crores per year for the year 2016, while full ORPP costing Rs 8298.60 crores is not being granted to the soldiers who protect the integrity and sovereignty of our country
(5/5) even at the peril of their life. These serious anomalies need to be corrected to honor the commitment to the soldiers given by the present Govt.
