We are a center left nation with a Democracy problem.

On issue after issue - taxes, guns, climate, abortion, and so many more - strong majorities of Americans prefer center-left positions. Not far left (alas), but clearly leftwing. Higher taxes on rich folks, save the climate, keep abortion legal, regulate guns reasonably.

What's more, there's no doubt that Biden will receive a strong majority of votes and that Democrats will win majorities across states in house/leg races, that vastly more Americans will vote for Democratic senators.

But whether they will be rewarded with power is unclear.

The reasons are twofold: 1) Decades of suppression of voting rights by Republican judges, lawyers, officials, and lawmakers, all fueled by outright lying about fraud (the ones coming clean "just now" are still lying, but whatever). 2) The structure of our Republic.

If we are very very very lucky, the murderous corrupt incompetence of the Trump regime and the Republican party who created and supports him, might give us a chance to fix some of these.

By enfranchising every American (including DC and offering statehood to /all/ territories), by expanding our courts, by passing legislation that actually matches the will of these strong majorities.

We can:

1) Elect Biden
2) Flip the Senate
3) Fix what's broken

Let’s try and get 1 and 2 done, remembering it is demonstrably what Americans want.

A little data for the assholes. On guns, 64% want more regulation.

Over 60% want abortion legal in most cases. If you break it down, 24 % want it legal in ALL cases, 37% in MOST cases, 26% legal in FEW cases. A massive majority.
