Huge news at my dad's house, as a robin has moved in. He has, somewhat inevitably, been named Pablo, after the novelty robin ornament he bought some Christmases ago, which had telescopic legs and a kind face. This robin too, appears friendly and professional. More updates to come
Pablo has been a visitor to my dad's garden for some time, but began entering the home this weekend. He flies back out the window frequently, but always returns, and he is now a free-roaming member of the household, gallivanting from room to room on regular tours of inspection.
Pablo loves music, with a particular predilection for the Northern Irish Country Music™ for which my homeland must be thoroughly, and regularly shamed.

For this, my father now loves him more ardently than any of his eleven children.
On the off chance you're unaware of Pablo The Telescopic Robin my dad bought one Christmas for absolutely no reason. https://twitter.com/shockproofbeats/status/804710178864107520
We don't like to dwell on how that all ended. We move on. We have a new, live, fully-legged Pablo now. https://twitter.com/shockproofbeats/status/813030382044151808
My sister lost track of Pabz for a bit, turns out he was taking some personal time in the bathroom. If they do have a critique of their new house guest, it's that he's still working on closing doors behind him. In his defence he actually was born in a field.
Some have asked why there's a London Bus outside the house. It's actually a plant pot on the exterior windowsill. My sister Maeve reminds us she got it as a Father's Day gift "from a garden centre in Letterkenny - the one with the animal kingdom", raising other questions entirely
There are, I'm afraid, other downsides to our new tenant, but all families have their ups and downs.
Hi guys
Pablo is back, and were hoping the numerous ominous portents of robins are countered by the fact his entries have so far occurred on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of November. That's like triple luck right?
I was shying away from updates but it's been a long day so you can have a little bit of Pablo as a treat.
Pablo kept mostly to himself this morning, a few too many hours staring at CNN overnight. By afternoon he was playing hide and seek in the garden, deploying some of his world famous PABLOFLAGE.
Fans of Pablo's legs (pablegs) will also enjoy this shot of him in the garage, giving a full bore power stance. If he comes back inside I'll let you all know.
I do also wonder what it is about robins that makes them look so much like a watercolour of a robin. They truly are nature's delightful little painted lads.
