Even in his worst season out of last three years (2019) he scored 383 runs. Note that only one player crossed 400 run mark ane only 2 other player crossed the 300 run mark for CSK in 2019. No one other player except @msdhoni ended up with a strike rate over 130+ in 2019.

Internationals:
Now if you're going to say he's not playing internationals anymore please note that he has only played 3 ODI's during 2016-2019 & 16 t20i's during 2017-2019. Playing intls is not even a factor. He's only in his early 30s & he's fit. That's all should matter.

Interesting thing is he scored all those runs in a below par season of his standards while he was developing an injury and undergoing surgeries. Now he's been training every day, lost so much weight and he's looking fitter than ever.

Now if you say that he doesn't deserve to be retained for that much just bc he had one bad season it'll be the biggest joke ever. We paid 7.8 & 6.75 crores for some some players so i don't think it'll hurt anyone to pay one of the legend of our franchise.
