This should be no different to the FI world where an illiquid stock would equate to an out of favour lower end priced player. Likewise, confidence in market should be restored once you can identify if the top end boys are falling in price all down to one rogue trader
To demonstrate market depth, below is the chart of Vodafone shares. The green circled data shows the bid/offer to the left with the number of shares on the right (the format 1x2). This tells you that you can sell 39,149 shares @ 104.44 or buy 11,116 @ 104.48

This information is CRUCIAL to trading. once we get this, the game truly does change for the platform. It is at this point that people from a non-gambling background and some more serious financial players get involved. It is that which equals liquidity
I can't entirely pinpoint what prompted me to post this....I just hope it can help explain the true meaning or order books and market depth. Confidence is what drives any market and there is currently very little in the football index space. These updates will change that quickly
