For example, Hive undercuts book cover prices significantly even before books are published, which crushes people - as bad or worse than Amazon in that. I’ve got a book out next year that’s already listed on Hive 22% below cover price even before it’s been published or seen.

Massive online discounts eliminate a chunk of the small royalties which writers & illustrators depend on, & in some cases mean publishers & others in the business are working at a loss. Those who create books can’t demand 22% off their rent & food shopping.
