People criticize Farage a lot - and rightfully so, he isn't a nationalist by any means, yet this could be an interesting development. With Corbyn out of Labour and Farage back in frontline politics, we could be witnessing a Balkanisation of British politics. https://twitter.com/Nigel_Farage/status/1322967894544830479
Destroying the Tories - and Labour (although that is half complete by this stage), must be the top priority.
Is Farage 'controlled opposition'? Oh undoubtedly. But he isn't going to replace the Tories - his aim of tens of thousands of foreign settlers instead of hundreds of thousands is just too nationalistic for them. So his main utility is going to be splitting up the Tory coalition.
Especially with a civil war potentially on the horizon in the Labour Party, this could essentially make single-party rule over the UK impossible, leading to shorter and more unstable governments. Giving Nationalists a much better chance of breaking through.
Especially if we switch to PR - as it looks like Farage will campaign for, we'll have perhaps ten years of constant instability. In this environment Nationalists - who will finally have their stable voting bloc represented, can expand on the promise of stability and orderly govt.
