An established principle of law is that only the injured party has the cause of action to file a case. So as the artist's agency, SM has no legal standing in court & they will have to consult the artist first bcs he/she has the ultimate decision, being the injured party. https://twitter.com/SMTOWNGLOBAL/status/1323117847086731265
Before anyone complains about us not knowing if SM took legal action, also consider the artist's decision, which often times we do not know if they want to file a case. A legal case isnt just a walk in the park, it will entail emotional & physical stress + A LOT of time (years)
+ not everything in the legal process will be reported to the public bcs it will be detrimental to the court proceedings, especially to the artist. Lawyers work to protect their clients & asmuch as we want to be updated, law practice doesnt work like the entertainment industry.
+a legal case can take YEARS before it can be resolved UNLESS parties decide to settle amicably. Also, cy**rb***ying is relatively new thats why it IS harder to resolve these cases. If you want updates, check notices in court or ask the law firms but I doubt they will update...
Please take note the context for "relatively new" in the previous tweet, I meant it in the law practice. Since it's harder to have evidence, identify the perpetrator (which then requires hacking), etc., it will entail more time to solve them.
Also putting this here, for everyone's perusal. https://twitter.com/taeyong1st/status/1321699627922456576
