The toxicity that continues to plague this community day after day is honestly sickening, but at the same time it’s kind of an interesting case study on how different people react when being exposed to the same medium.
Years ago people found out that recording videos regarding this medium was the easiest way to spread their content and their love for it. However, as is unfortunately normal for any living being in this situation, a perception of a hierarchy began to form.
Some people’s content became more widespread than others. Their creations gained more notoriety and that’s how the idea of “big” and “small” users came to be. Some people whose projects weren’t getting as much recognition as they wanted began to feel jealous.
Jealousy towards those bigger users. These users have different ways of dealing with this jealousy and lesser recognition. Some people use it to fuel their motivation to work harder and hopefully garner a larger audience, while others simply throw in the towel and complain.
The whole point of this is to say that if you feel like you’re on the “bottom,” you still probably have people out there that are dying to see your next project. Let that motivate you! That being said, I’ve never seen two pretty best friends. It’s always one of them gotta be ugly
