Some pre-election thoughts on nervousness:
1/ You should feel nervous. It's a meaningful election. Lots will change depending on the outcome.

But every generation has dealt with all kind of really serious stuff. Huge challenges are the rule, not the exception. We aren't special.
2/ I believe that dealing well with uncertainty requires believing that there is no "end." Trump wins, that's not the end. Biden wins, that's not the end.

You're going to keep living and fighting for your values well beyond Election Day. It's not a movie with an ending.
3/ The world doesn't owe you anything--not policy, not election outcomes. So go ahead and be nervous through Election Day, but stop cowering and instead face that feeling head-on and plan to get out there after the election and push for what you think is right.
4/ And because you remember that the election is not the end of anything, you're going to go out and play the long game. This election might be a high note or a sour note, but it's just one note. Take comfort in your resolve to continue regardless of outcome.
