So I haven't kept Yang Gang memorabilia on my profile in quite some time and I think I can finally put into words why. Even though I mostly follow/am followed by current/former Yang supporters.

You need to understand what Humanity First means to me, and what it doesn't.

Thread.
The primary, fundamental meaning to me is: a willing acceptance of all people from all backgrounds [who wish to join in the kind of future Andrew Yang was attempting to illustrate.]

That last bit is important. Yang's base included a lot of *former* Trump supporters. Key Word.
Former.

Andrew Yang is not a Trump supporter, and is actively and explicitly working to ensure Trump does NOT get a second term.

Trump meanwhile is actively working against everything Yang was trying to build.

If you are a current Trump supporter, you are not Yang supporter.
In spite of this, many current Yang supporters seem to have missed the nuance.

The requisite for entry is that you are leaving behind your past and entering a new future.

Humanity First is to accept anyone who is willing to improve themselves, to go Forward.
It does not mean accepting people into your fold who actively work against your "shared" vision of the future while falsely espousing that they share it.

These people are using your shared platform as a springboard into a totally different future that you don't want to occupy.
The Paradox of Tolerance is that tolerating intolerance leads to the destruction of tolerance.

You cannot be all-accepting. There's at minimum a single, pragmatic caveat: your past is your *past*.

Understand this.
There's only one case for Trump 2020 = Yang 2024, and it's accelerationism, easily debunked.

Some Bernie supporters thought Trump 2016 = Bernie 2020 and we all know how well that worked.

Yang knows this too, which is why he doesn't support Trump, and neither should any YangGang
