Next week is gonna be nuts, a thread! The infrastructure that's been created to support people in the streets is going to be tested to their limits. But there are always ways people way people can help support each other.
/2 Have a plan! Talk within your crew about any needs you will have in case of arrest. Cars moved, pets fed, jobs called, ride home from jail...This allows people doing support more capacity to help people who don't have pre-existing networks. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CGlYE5eBHiq/?igshid=1sdgnh90htth0
/3 If you are arrested and released from the downtown jail there will most likely be someone waiting to offer a ride or other support. Take a moment to look around for them when you are released and see if the kind of support they are offering is something you need in the moment
/4 Post release feel free to email us with needs you have regarding your arrest, this can be anything from a ride to court if you have been charged to a simple clarification of wtf just happened to you in terms of the law; we can do almost everything besides provide legal advice.
/5 Know your resources! The @NLG_Seattle will be staffing it's hotline (206 OK TRY ME) through the week. Utilize it if you are arrested OR you have the name/needs of someone CONFIRMED arrested. Chatter about someone you think *might* be arrested can inadvertently create risk.
/6 Watching your friend get arrested is terrifying, getting separated and not knowing if they are arrested can be just as scary. Having a pre-agreed on meet up time/location can help keep panic down if you get separated from each other-and keep your calls to legal line minimal
/7 Jail Inmate Lookup Service! We know how to use JILS, so we don't need info that you have gleaned off the prisoner look up. BUT! if you need the info to track your friend or comrade please reference this earlier thread. https://twitter.com/PugetSupport/status/1286801717984518144
/8 Portland Action Medics have made a mega list of staying safe at demos. This is invaluable information and should be shared widely. https://twitter.com/PDXActionMedics/status/1322171173371699200
/9 Support the supporters!
Please donate to the @NWComBailFund and https://www.dismantle.us/  in their efforts to free and support people arrested in this continuing rebellion.
