We finally got a JKD breakout game, a great feeling for those of us that paid up in rookie drafts.

This week, we'll turn our attention to Jonathan Taylor, the 1.01 or 1.02 for most drafters.

What's going on with JT? Poor play, Frank Reich, or something else?

Let's grind
When running the JKD thread last week his secondary metrics made a strong case for a breakout.

Taylor's aren't looking as strong:
True YPA: #38
YPT: #25
Juke Rate: #42
YC/T: #54

A few nice points:
Y/RR #3
Catch Rate #2
Breakaway Runs: #5

JT, 3rd down back?
Let's look at the film from this week's game.
Here's his first carry.
He hits the hole hard, but he's slow to recognize it.
Taylor left yards on the table here
On his next carry, there's a few extra steps into the cut, but I'm nitpicking. He finishes the run hard, but the Lions hold up here. This is good run d, IND loses in the trench on this one.
On this rush there are literally three unblocked defenders. It looks to be by design, but why didn't anyone block the edge for him? Let me know if I'm missing something here.
He flashes his speed getting outside anyway and finishes with power. Good run.
This is a power run up the middle. He needs a yard, he gets a yard. Successful play.
This was his first REC. It's ironic that his big knock as a prospect was his pass-catching, he looks plenty fluid catching the ball and turning upfield, and makes a nice move to get the 1st down (though better if he kept his feet)
He executes the play correctly here, but it just isn't well blocked. I'd like to see him try to beat the tackler; I don't see him win one-on-one in any of these snaps.
Why all the tosses? He's getting the ball 6 yards behind the LOS. Play design...
This is an ugly carry. The hole he's looking for just isn't there. There were several options he had to create a positive play, but he's indecisive. This is not a good rep
