In an unexpected turn of event, Bilibili Internet Show "Rap for Youth", whose finale episode just broadcasted yesterday, lead to a massive protestation online against National Radio and Television Administration censorship.

So what happened?
During the last episode, one of the contestant, a young rapper called Sheng Dai (圣代), has seen his verse partially cut from a The trio performance. As you can see in the screenshot of the lyrics below, the censored part denounce sexual harassment at work and victim blaming.
Sheng Dai's team mate Chen Jinnan (陈近南) posted a coded message on Weibo during the finale live to inform the audience about the censored lyrics, directly blaming the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA).
It immediately stirred up the netizen anger and numerous hashtag were created, becoming Weibo top 10 trending topics.

Here are some examples.
"Medusa's Manor" (《美杜莎庄园》) is not the first song from this show that openly talk about today social issues. Some of the contestants were often praised for their meaningful lyrics and for their engagement. The relative freedom of speech made the show even more popular.
The song "A piece of tape" (《一块胶布》) for instance, from Beijing based rapper C-LOW, also talk about censorship in hip-hop music industry. The lyrics were changed from the original version but the meaning is still here.
