Many Christians are in denial about the Biblical "age of marriage". Too many Christians assume that the Bible agrees with modern views & will vociferously deny the reality, which is that the Bible was no different from other ancient books in this regard.

The particularly controversial verse, 1 Cor 7:36, shows clearly that even Paul was okay with what we would today call child marriage.
The word of interest in the Greek is "hyperakmos". This word, when it applies to females, means "past the prime of youth".
This meant someone who was past the age of puberty and was not yet married. John Marten explains that the ideal time for marriage was puberty, so someone who was "hyperakmos" was beyond this age.
Older Christian commentaries confirm that the verse was talking child marriage, e.g. Matthew Henry's commentary.
And John Calvin defined the marriageable age as between 12 and 20. However, elsewhere, he allowed betrothals as early as age 7, but consummation of marriage only with the onset of puberty.
