I’m feeling a lot of emotions right now. My dad just tested positive for Covid.
My first emotion is concern for his health, but all my other emotions are driven by anger.
It’s rare that my personal life spills onto Twitter, but I need to share this in hopes it may save a life.

The church my dad attends, @calvarycch, has completely disregarded all Covid-19 precautions. Since May 31st, the church has been holding packed services with 1000’s of people gathered together. No masks. No distance.
To make matters worse, the pastor of this church, @RealJackHibbs, has consistently and frequently downplayed the severity of the virus as well as the effectiveness of precautions such as masks.
Pastor Jack, who I grew up loving and listening to, has completely transformed his platform by embracing far right-wing ideologies and political figures who, once again, downplay the severity of this virus. Dennis Prager and Charlie Kirk frequently speak at this church.
By leaning all the way into his adoration of President Trump, who spews daily lies about the severity of this virus, Pastor Jack has put thousands of people at risk of contracting Covid-19. My dad is just one of these cases.
It makes me sad. I’m a Christian. I grew up going to Pastor Jack’s Church. But you can’t be a professing Pro-Life, Christ following, kind, caring, compassionate Christian, who also disregards safety precautions implemented to... save lives. It’s hypocritical and dangerous.
For my dad, I just want him to get well. Unfortunately, he’s fallen victim to the hypocritical teachings and ideologies that have been spewed from the pulpit of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills.
It’s not Christ-like, and my convictions will not allow me to be silent about it.
