Months ago, @steelworkers sent a detailed questionnaire to the presidential candidates to learn where each stood on key issues affecting us. Keep in mind, this is a union representing 850,000 men and women in sectors and states we all hear a LOT about. This was a big deal. …
Endorsements are a big deal. (The media may say they’re not, but they’re only looking at it from the outside.) The questionnaire was detailed, covered a range of policies—does the candidate support or oppose? Questions to the people running for PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. …
The questionnaire asked whether they supported or opposed policies like: trade agreements, the right for workers to collectively bargain, for unions to be recognized, protecting workers’ rights on pay, controlling health care costs, “Buy America,” raising the minimum wage…
…addressing the climate emergency, ensuring regulations don’t favor big business over workers, funding agencies who protect workers, creating a workplace violence prevention standard, strengthening Social Security and Medicare, stabilizing pension plans, barring discrimination…
…promoting access to the ballot box, addressing the COVID emergency of public health & the economy–and so on.
Wonky stuff.
Detailed stuff.
A questionnaire about things that literally matter when we go to work.
Are we safe? Is our retirement secure? Who’s got our back? …

So here’s how @JoeBiden ended his response to the questionnaire (on p. 24):
“Thank you so much for everything that you are doing. Thank you for everything you’re doing to support our front-line workers. Thank you for your spirit of solidarity; for having each other’s backs.” …

We must ask the hard questions of our candidates for PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Our lives depend on decisions made in the White House.
@JoeBiden offered @steelworkers his detailed answers.
But @realDonaldTrump?
He

We’re a group of women (and friends) who’ve been on the road for weeks, meeting new people, having real conversations.
We respect everyone’s right to cast their vote. We know @realDonaldTrump voters are among us. We just ask that they realize Trump couldn’t even be bothered.

We warned you yesterday we were going to get serious! Take time to read @JoeBiden’s answers. ( https://www.uswvoices.org/endorsed-candidates/biden/BidenUSWquestionnaire.pdf) And when @realDonaldTrump talks next, listen for what he doesn’t say. He’s not for us.
Hey, #Erie–he even admitted he didn’t want to be here!

Big new @dankaufman70 article goes deep into @realDonaldTrump on trade & manufacturing. He will tout his steel/aluminum tariffs, but “such boasting masks a profound failure.” “It was a short-term sugar rush,” @ScottPaulAAM said.
