it's finally november 2020 and that means taylor can officially re-record her albums 1-5, creating new masters and owning them. it also means that some rat will lose $300 million soon 
reputation cannot be re-recorded as it's still under re-recording restriction. these restrictions prevent the artist from re-recording their music for a certain period after the end of the contract, the standard being 5 years. so technically, reputation can be re-recorded in 2022
the funny part of the re-recording is that republic records is a division of UMG, which is also a distributor of BMR, making universal competing against itself
and since scooter bought BMR, taylor has denied third party uses of her music, so he doesn't profit from her. by owning the re-recording masters, she can control which version of the song is licensed
remember when she created a whole new band, the jack leopards & the dolphin club, and used her pseudonym for the production just to be able to cover her own song and thus allow it to be used on killing eve, and not the old version owned by scooter? legendary behavior
carlyle group, the group that financed the acquisition of BMR by ithaca holdings, won't be very happy to see the $300M invested in buying her masters going straight to the trash. so imo if they don't want to lose even more money, scooter will sell taylor's masters back to her
in conclusion: that rat bought her masters for millions of dollars behind her back and now she's making them worthless. did someone say iconic??
