I feel like I never liked Seraphine for what she is, but for what she could've been. The idea of an insecure yet determined songstress wanting to change the world by embracing what once needed to be suppressed was met with the sloppiest execution I've seen on Riot's part. 1/8
Am I a hypocrite for calling out people who were criticizing Sera like it's a hobby for days on end? Absolutely. There's nothing wrong with being disappointed with a fictional character and I think I've come to see her for what she is and that's a giant missed opportunity. 2/8
I can't believe a character so shallow was greenlit by the same company who released Jhin, Camille, Swain and plenty of other well written champions who make Seraphine seem like a literal OC. I think everybody agrees that her Runeterra self feels like an afterthought. 3/8
When you listen to Seraphine's songs, you're presented with what could've been and it pisses me off that it wasn't. A timid and kind soul that wants to inspire others despite not being fully confident in herself yet. Where did that go? 4/8 https://open.spotify.com/track/29kJz9cOUnTVOKwQWbQCsh
As someone who adores League's universe more than anything it offers, it pains me that such a heartwarming and deep concept was pushed aside and replaced with something so one-dimensional. Sera could've been one of the most likeable characters had they tried. 5/8
If you like Seraphine as a character, more power to you. Personally the only things I enjoy about her are the music and gameplay. But that's not enough for me not to feel disappointed as a passionate fan of League's universe. 6/8
You might be wondering what caused me to suddenly change my approach to Sera and honestly I think I just put my pride aside. I've /been/ disappointed with how big of a missed opportunity she is, but I was too proud to admit it and tried to find anything to like her for. 7/8
I have more thoughts on her, but I don't want this thread to be too long. I know it's all been said and done, but as someone who used to defend Seraphine from valid critique, I felt like giving my final opinion on her now that some time has passed. 8/8
