Talked about this on the pod with @ezraklein but one thing I haven’t seen much analysis of is how and why Biden’s been able to manage his relationship with the left more effectively than Clinton.
Part of it is that Trump is real rather than hypothetical. Part of it is that Bernie felt he had a shot at 2020 but seems to acknowledge he’s too old for 2024.

Both Bernie and Biden basically agreed that Bernie was a leftist and Biden was considerably more moderate, and then disagreed about which was better.
