The hyper-accelerated Trump news cycle has turned a shitload of normies into Twitter and content addicts, and I believe them when they say they just want Trump to go away so they can sleep, read a book or go to brunch again, but they don't understand how deeply fucked they are

The "return to normalcy" desire they express is basically the desperate pleading of a strung-out druggie who wants one particular dealer to go away because they imagine that'll fix them and remove the Content Leviathan's vice grip on their brain

We have some sort of meta-awareness of having scrambled our brains on too much internet and have accepted shit like horrid sleep etc, but imagine if youre a normal person and become like this after 4 years of intense rewiring. Terrifying, like an animal injected with psychedelics

Also beyond just the mental wiring, this is also what all media is converging towards: The schizophrenic TL of someone following thousands of people, refreshed every few seconds, life-or-death matters popping up and dissolving into the air within the blink of an eye etc

Same with the interactive aspect of it, every avenue where people might converse turned into the mindless forever-war underneath youtube Balkans videos

Trump is simply a gifted content creator, but after he is gone the platform/infrastructure and thirst for content will remain

Obama is right, but he's lying by omission. The (both professional and social) media has tasted blood, and the dopamine receptors have been zapped, there's no going back
