Day 1: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from the Guinness brewery in Dublin. I drank my Mom’s beer (you got a beer with your ticket). And I remember they said the local water it what made Guinness so good.

Day 2: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum. I’m not a huge fan of the genre but love Johnny Cash. My wife & I left the kids with my parents and had a great few days.

Day 3: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from an awesome museum in NOLA that is all about how we won a war against a totalitarian state run by a dictator with (plot twist) RUSSIA’S HELP!

Day 4: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from Hershey, Pennsylvania. We went there for a day on our honeymoon.. the air smelled of chocolate. Thinking of PA today for some reason.

Day 5: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from when we visited our friend and his family when he worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. I remember Albuquerque had some really good Mexican food.

Day 6: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from one of my many, many work trips to Georgia (and when I’ve driven through it to Disney). Hotlanta is on my mind today.

Day 8: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from a wedding we went to in Vegas. It was before kids and a really fun time. I won karaoke with Baby Got Back.

Day 9: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from a trip to Toronto when we had only one kid. We went up the Needle and ate great food. It was my pilgrimage to the birthplace of The Kids in the Hall. Thinking of Canada a lot lately.

Day 10: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from our cross county train ride that ended in San Francisco. We went with a couple friend before we had kids. All the tourist spots were great. We did not wear flowers in our hair.

Day 11: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. From when we used to live outside Brussels.. the Chicago of Europe. Belgians love beer, chocolate, fries, & waffles. I really liked it there.

Day 12: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from Star Wars weekend at Disney in 2011.. this is before they owned it. We saw George Lucas speak which was pretty cool!

Day 13: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from our family trip to Denver. Beautiful national park. And the home to the world’s largest comic book store.

Day 14: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from when I saw Roger Waters tour “The Wall”... it was fantastic. Pink Floyd rules.

Day 15: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. My dad took me to Hawaii for spring break my freshmen year in college. I didn’t grow up with a lot of money and this week was as awkward as it sounds. I can’t really describe it but I’m glad we went.

Day 16: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. We went to a March wedding in Oklahoma and almost died a few times because of a blizzard and their inability to clear toll roads. This one is ironic.. a souvenir of losing one of my nine lives.

Day 17: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. I got this in Mexico when I was in a beach wedding (best man obviously). We left the resort to attend mass in town. As usual I was the whitest guy there.

Day 18: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. We took an overnight road trip to Austin from Illinois to visit my buddy. I was 18 & had just been dumped by my first love. We mostly drank beer at a La Quinta Inn and watched MST3K. It was great.

Day 19: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. Fun family trip a few years ago to the Brookfield Zoo. I hold the giraffe when I drink from it.

Day 20: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from my 40th birthday party in Vegas at the Cosmopolitan. It was a group of us turning 40 and we all wore A LOT of sequins every night. My Amazon preferences were jacked that year.

Day 22: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from a long weekend in Rome with my better half when we lived in Europe. It is a beautiful city and the architecture is awe inspiring.

Day 23: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This is from our last trip with no kids (outside of my wife’s body). Seattle was fun and the surrounding area was very pretty. We visited the Twin Peaks waterfalls and the Northern Exposure town.

Day 25: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a trip to the Great Sand Dunes in Colorado. It’s really worth it.

Day 26: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a trip to Massachusetts a long time ago. We saw all the historical sites in Boston and the surrounding area... along with the Cheers bar.

Day 27: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from the Christmas we spent in northern Scotland. We stayed with friends in the country outside Aberdeen. Very lovely area.

Day 28: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a baby shower we went to on the Jersey shore. We went to the boardwalk and picked up a Springsteen where we had dinner.

Day 30: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from Sedona and the Red Rock State Park. Fun side trip before kids. I was impressed!

Day 31: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a stop at the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame Museum on our way back from Toronto. Cleveland!

Day 33: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a cruise where we stopped at Key West. We had just got engaged and it was our first big trip as a couple. Good vibes.

Day 34: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from when we lived in Europe and took a weekend trip to Cologne, Germany. Their cathedral is beautiful. I liked the food.. and beer.

Day 35: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a really beautiful place, Custer State Park in South Dakota. (Not sure why this looks like a glamour shot.)

Day 36: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from an Easter visit to Le Mont-Saint-Michel in northern France. It was without hyperbole one of the coolest things I have ever seen. It’s hard to describe.

Day 37: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from our trip to San Diego. It was a really nice trip. We went to Coronado Beach which was beautiful. I got the worst sun burn of my life. Awesome Mexican food & I got on a Russian sub!

Day 44: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from our family trip to see Harry Potter world, and the Simpsons, and I think there was a Dr. Seuss land. Diagon Alley was really well done. Cool stuff.

Day 46: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a super family trip to Metropolis, Illinois. They have a huge Superman statue and small but fun museum.

Day 47: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a volunteer trip where we spent the week serving the poor in downtown Philly. We did get to see the sights one day. Pretty transformative trip for college students. #philadelphia

Day 48: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a trip before kids to Charleston and Myrtle Beach. Parasailing, foam party, and finished the Dark Tower series on the beach.

Day 49: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a family riverboat tour in New Orleans. They had jazz bands, brunch, and alcohol.

Day 50: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from our family trip to Amsterdam. We saw Anne Frank’s house, a neat museum, and pushed our stroller through the red light district.

Day 51: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a trip to visit friends in Indianapolis. Overall pretty fun town.

Day 52: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a family trip to the Museum of Science & Industry in sweet home Chicago.

Day 53: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from Heidelberg, Germany. It’s a picturesque town with a castle and everything. We were there at Christmas time and there was a great outdoor market with heated tents serving food.

Day 55: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from Bruges, my favorite place to visit when we lived in Europe. Very quaint and picturesque!

Day 56: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a trip we took to Disneyland Paris with some other families. It’s like American Disney except a lot more smoking.

Day 57: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a van trip we took to the top of Pikes Peak. It was an awesome view and bitterly cold!

Day 58: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.

Day 59: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from the Grand Canyon. It was one of the most amazing feature I’ve seen in nature. Also an elderly Asian man asked to take a picture with my wife while we were there. We passed.

Day 61: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a trip to the St. Louis Mardi Gras (one of the biggest outside of NOLA) and a trip with some friends to the Ozarks (we went tubing and I read Under the Dome). And we saw the Arch.

Day 62: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from our first Mexican resort vacation. Buenos tiempos.

Day 63: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from Waterloo. There’s a cool lion statue on top of a big hill where Napoleon was defeated. There was also a really good noodle restaurant nearby.

Day 64: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from a side trip with a buddy to Red Bank, New Jersey. We shopped comics at Jay & Silent Bob’s Secret Stash. Good time.

Day 65: In lieu of travel I’d like to do a tour of past trips via shot glasses. This was from many, many days and nights in sweet home Chicago. It’s my favorite double shot glass.
