What is the #PeoplesAS30? It's about choice! ANY route to a vote which is not the SNP's dead "Grovel to Boris" plan A, requires that the power of the Scottish Parliament to legislate for indyref without WM consent is beyond all ambiguity - that's what the #PeoplesAS30 is doing!
Whether it be a referendum legislated for without asking Boris or whether it be @AngusMacNeilSNP's Plan B of a referendum by way of election or whether it be any other form of voting - the question of the Scottish Parliaments powers needs to be put beyond all doubt! Period!
We are not asking the court to decide one way or the other - we are seeking a "declarator" - We have put the case to the court that Scotland already has the power to hold a referendum without WM permission - now the Tories have to prove otherwise!
We're not begging for consent - we're arguing that we already have the power here in Scotland - that it is our fundamental right and we're defending the right of the Scottish Parliament to legislate on behalf of its people on the constitutional question.
This is a fight which the SNP would have to have anyway with respect to their bill if Boris says No to a section 30 order again (likely) - so from that perspective, we're also putting the SNP's referendum bill beyond all doubt of competence as well - yet they are resistant.
Why would you actively try to hinder the one thing which would put your own bill beyond any doubt? That's a question only they can answer.
