To be absolutely clear, while this list is exhausting it’s not exhaustive - other Tory MPs have also opposed a lockdown.
It’s also true that some/many of them might now support the lockdown. The point is that by speaking out against it, they played a part in delaying the action the actual experts recommended, which has consequences for all of us.
NOBODY wants a lockdown. Nobody. The experts don’t want us to need one, but their job is to recognise when we do. Yesterday they were finally listened to. That might have happened sooner if the government wasn’t distracted, listening to so much opposition from its own MPs.
