Somalis in the #Harerghe region are proud of being Hararians and they claim a great part of the history of #Harar Islam civilizations and long-standing 1000 years governance. New generations of Somali heritage people do not speak Somali and their houses are typical Harari style.

Collecting primary data in #Oral #History is proving to be more complicated than doing so in #qualitative or #quantitative methods. Every question is subject to immediate interpretation: gathering the voices & memories of people & participants in past events has never been easy.
