OYIGBO MASSACRE HASHTAG❗️

I didn’t want to do this because I do not have the full picture. But I’ll go ahead anyways so the real fake news doesn’t give government an incentive in their quest to regulate social media in Nigeria.
I live in Rivers State.
11km from Oyigbo LGA.
It is just another LGA in Rivers State that doesn’t have any government presence, bad roads, no electricity etc. It borders Abia State and consequently is home to a lot igbo people. And because of how disillusioned they are with the lack of Govt presence, most of the youths have
Bought the IPOB agenda. There’s also a large Northern/Muslim community in the LGA. Prior to the #EndSARS protests, there had been a few clashes with security agents. But the protests emboldened the IPOB members, having them see it as a call to anarchy. They burnt down a police
Station and killed members of the northern community. Then came the reprisal attack. This video in the tweet came up on my TL on the 21st of October, but notice how this person paints a picture of the deaths being as a result of a massacre by the army? WARNING: It’s GRAPHIC https://twitter.com/chukwunonsomazi/status/1321819253016842241
Also, the army has come out to say some soldiers were killed (don’t know how true that is, given how dishonest the army is). In order to arrest the situation Gov. Wike declared a curfew and put up a bounty for the IPOB member who spearheaded the whole thing. https://twitter.com/mobilepunch/status/1322805757616730112
Nnamdi Kanu in his wisdom retaliated by putting up a N100M bounty on Wike’s head, which then made the RVSG proscribe IPOB as a terrorist organization. The army is now going house to house arresting IPOB members, and trust the army to also whisk away innocent people.
They may have encountered resistance that led to some deaths (I do not hold brief for them) but I am 90% sure that it is not a massacre by the army.
So please don’t let IPOB and their propaganda derail genuine efforts to hold govt accountable via social media.
Again, I am open to fresh information and verifiable facts. So if you have videos of atrocities committed by the Nigerian army in Oyigbo, please feel free to post beneath the thread. cc @Lionezz__ @ScarletVirgin
