I really need everyone on the UK left, and especially Labour, to read this quote from Moishe Postone, explaining why anti-semitism on the left is effectively a confused form of anti-capitalist "analysis." HT @___adn & @therubykid .

This quote explains a lot to me in terms of the particular appeal of anti-semitism in the British left, how this can be understood as a false critique of capitalism, and how/why it is entangled with the left-left wing of Labour (who do criticize capitalism).
It also helps explain why many within Corbyn circles were hesitant to stamp it out: they were disproportionately attacking their own side if they were, and in the absence of clear communication that stated "anti-capitalism is this, antisemitism is that, this is why one ...
is an accurate analysis, and the other is dumb racism which harms people and is also counterproductive to socialism, you dumbasses" the conflation of anti-capitalism and antisemitism continued and almost hardened, since the left-left was effectively the antisemitic left.

wasn't dealt with more swiftly and better. This is not a new problem (goes back to at least Stalin). It has roots in a misunderstanding of history, economic and political systems we can understand and use in response. FFS be better socialists everyone. End/
