"My own mother thought I was a monster" was not an accurate representation of what Ursa actually thought of her daughter but it was an accurate representation of how Ursa made Azula FEEL
tw// mention of abuse

like, obviously, ursa isn't completely at fault. being a parent is already hard but being a parent in an abusive household where you know the possibilities of your husband killing your son? who'd be able to handle that without making mistakes?
like, Ursa was not wrong for having concerns about Azula as a child but the way she expressed those concerns didn't help. It only reinforced the toxic self-image that Azula was developing due to Oz*i.
Ursa loved Azula but due to the circumstances, she was incapable of properly showing that love.
anyways, it's almost three in the morning, goodnight!
