Tw: ableist slurs

While I'm talking about ableist language, I truly don't think ableds realize how tiring it is. You might not think saying "stupid" or "crazy" is a big deal, but it's like this constant background radiation of dehumanization all day.
The ideas you perpetuate with your language do matter. I know it can be hard to stop saying these things, but I'm gonna need people to put in a lot more effort. Because impact>intent and that's that.
Think about situations in which you'd use ableist language and find replacement words so you have something healthier to reach for. And don't only try to not say them when you're in front of disabled people cause that doesn't work and it's just performative.
I can absolutely tell when people only question their ableism when they're around me. It shows.
But also, stop treating this like it's trivial. It is not trivial to be dehumanized in a million different ways all day. That's not actually acceptable and that's not what I'm settling for.
I'm not a communist bc I'd like to be constantly degraded and devalued by people who claim to be comrades. If y'all can't take ableism seriously even enough to try to change your language a bit, which is honestly one of the easiest things about ableism you can solve right now,
you are not my comrade. You are my enemy.

It's one thing if you're ignorant, but if you refuse to learn? No. I can't work with you. I don't trust people who can't even make that small amount of effort.
That's just scratching the surface too. Do you include disabled people in both your theory and praxis at all? What about those of us who can't work? What about those who have little, if anything, to offer you? What do we mean to you?
If you haven't even bothered to consider the existence of disabled people, we are not comrades. There are a lot of leftists out there who do not believe disabled people have a right to live and I'm just gonna assume you're one of them.
Clearly if we're not a part of your everyday leftism, you don't really care.
