If you give out homeless supply packs this winter, chapstick and lotion, nobody ever gives out lotion and chapstick but seriously, it’s such a lifesaver when you’re homeless in the cold.
Since this is being shared, a lot of what was donated to me when I was on the streets I couldn’t use. It was often really cheap for the purchaser but poverty didn’t make my skin conditions or allergy stop.
If you can try and avoid hand sani with glitter in it, or harsh perfumes
And I understand often people grab a ton of what’s inexpensive and available, but that can sometimes mean stuff that isn’t really useful or something that can cause someone an allergic reaction.
So if you’re able to avoid that please do.
And yeah yeah beggars can’t be choosers but nobody wants to live on natures valley oat bars, a banana & ham w/ mustard on white bread forever.
Throw in some Oreos or a candy bar sometimes, a plum, a different flavor of snack bar, something nice once in a while. Make someone happy
Best bag I ever got was, Oreos, a decent pair of socks, sani, decent snack bars, a candy bar, instant coffee, hand warmers, an instant ramen and a dollar scratcher (which I won $5 on!) in a ziplock. Good stuff. That said “I see you as a human who also needs to be happy” to me.
