ICYMI some important stats while the world was burning:

1. The US passed 9mil cases of COVID. On track to reach 10mil in just over a wk.

2. We hit a new record of daily cases yesterday: 99,800. Yes, almost 100k cases. In one day. Was it just an outlier? No. 91k the day before.
3. Texas now passed California as number 1 in cases. With TX currently averaging 2-3,000 more daily cases than CA, they're on track to be the first state to pass 1 million.

That will occur very close to when the US passes 10 million cases. It'll be a milestone kind of week!
4. What about deaths? With the exception of NY (who had 0 preparedness for the initial outbreak, as 100k cases flooded its doorstep), 3 second-wave states lead after passing NJ death totals.

Both NY and NJ figures were once considered untouchable for 5mo. Theyre now obliterated.
5. Where DO those northeastern states that were once 1-5 for monthsss, by large margins, bc they were obliterated by unpreparedness, PPE shortages, no science, no regs, and no plan, stack these days? Oh.

NY? 4th
NJ? 10th
PA? 13th
MI? 14th
MA? 21st

You had warning. They didn't.
6. Finally? Where are we in terms of this pandemic slowing down, turning a corner, or getting to go back to normal?

We had to shut down for weeks w/ shelter-in-place orders around March 20th. So how much safer are things now than they were back then?

Oh wait here I'll show you
