Sara debuted in Kedarnath with Sushant. The level of the film is already set, Sushant after Dhoni is cemented in his position. Sushant carries the film, but Sara gets all the attention. From promotions to awards, it was all about her. Even though Sushant did a way better job.
Randeep Hooda is established as a pretty good actor. Yet he got no recognition for Highway. Whereas Alia was called Bollywood’s “Meryl Streep”. The project was built on Randeep’s shoulders but Alia took all the praises and credit. Even though Randeep did a way better job.
Though Kartik may not be the best actor , he does have his own fan base. Despite giving a decent performance, in Pati, Patni aur Woh - Ananya got the hype. It was a perfect storm, cast Kartik and Bhumi, make them do the lifting and throw in Ananya she can get all the attention.
Ishaan isn’t an outsider but he’s also not that liked. But he is a pretty good actor. Despite acting in circles around Janhvi in their debut film. He had zero films for 2 years and she had 6 lined up before her debut movie released, despite acting horribly with her frozen face.
There are more examples: Sara- Kartik, Janhvi- Kartik, Alia-Vicky in Raazi, Sonakshi-Ranveer in Lootera (he wasn’t a star back then and his connections weren’t known) Janhvi-Rajkumar coming up soon..... this is not a coincidence. This is a well-planned, intentional ploy.
By working with actors like Rajkumar or Sushant - they are automatically somewhat validated, because audiences know that these guys are solid talent. So by working with these talented guys - the nepo betiyan are indirectly advancing their own agenda by getting some clout.
Otherwise why are all four girls here doing the same thing? This is nothing but a tactic, ke look look we are worthy of working with such talent , look look we are nepo betiyan but are still fair and working with actors who are not as popular as us.
Also - is it a coincidence that 90% of the above pairings were dating each other? Nope it’s not. Most often true and this news is always planted by the nepo betiyan’s PR and when they’re finished with the movie, they won’t talk about or to their co-star and won’t look back.
Formula: Throw in a strong male lead, with a strong supporting cast, a decent story..and a ready-made nepo beti. Even if she is terrible, no problem, at least she’ll learn by being in the presence of talent and kaam karte karte thodi dating wating bhi ho jayegi.
What did Sushant get from Kedarnath? What did Randeep get from Highway? Nothing. Even though they acted way better, they hardly got any recognition. These guys were being used. The problems in this industry are so deep rooted, we often don’t see or realize it at first....
