This is a distressing example of how hard it is to stop disinformation on here.
Start w this Beschloss tweet that got retweeted a lot into my TL. The quote is literally correct, BUT!
Now, first time I clicked on it, a video was right below. Second time I clicked, tho, this.

It’s just ppl taking the quote at face value.
But I had seen the video before, so knew to scroll down to it, where I see... a big warning.
Click then on the warning (so that’s see the retweet, click on the retweeted tweet, then find the video, then click warning), and see this.

That’s a lot of work! And no warning abt manipulation/misinterp unless you see the actual link to the video.
So here, you have high-profile quote without video, repeatedly quote-retweeted without video.
I was lucky that I saw the video tweet w the warning before it got buried.

I don’t have some great solution here. Just struck me as a striking example of how hard stopping misinfo is.
After all, the Beschloss quote is literally correct, and has zero analysis.
But it isn’t made in a vacuum, and the... atmosphere?... gives it misleading meaning.
