#bcpoli Here's a thread on how DBH misleads media and public by omission.
Oct. 1 @NEWS1130 headlined record tests of 10,899.

"And I think that’s just an incredible feat, as our laboratories have been ramping up across the province,” PHO Dr. Bonnie Henry. 1/7
As part of safe start program Feds gave provinces $4.28 billion to up national testing capacity to 200,000 daily. Each province was allocated a target. Ont target 78,000, Alberta 22,000, BC 20,000 per day. 2/7
On OCT 1 BC reported to feds that it had reached public health testing capacity of 9,714 and average testing was 5,540 per day. See screenshot - reported to feds. Therefore public health did not test figures reported by DBH on Oct. 1. 3/7
While Alberta has reached its 22,000 target, BC has achieved only 12,840 and average per day testing of 5,456. That for last reported day Oct. 22. Why is BC not on target? 4/7
The way BC has misled citizens is adding thousands of private film testing carried out on asymptomatic crew. Same people tested over and over. This helps create a mirage of higher testing and lower positivity. Ministry of Health email 👇🏽5/7
BC ministry of health refuses to release data on private testing figures added to public health stats. Refused to release data on number of students and teachers isolated. And refused to supply separate infection numbers in staff and seniors in LTC in their daily update.
