Some people see the world in black and white only. Thinking that Injae is totally evil is missing a lot about her character. In real life we all have flaws and no one is perfect. Will continue in this thread, read it if you want.
It's gonna be a long one 😅 #StartUp #스타트업
BTW I’m sorry if there are any mistakes. English is not my native language
Ok, even if she lied in her application letter it doesn't mean that she won't work hard herself to get her CEO position. You already saw how capable she is and (correct me if I’m wrong) Injae had been accepted before CEO Yoon discovered her letter. As for now no special treatment
Also some act like they never lied a little in their resumes or didn't write their essays like how your teachers want you to write and not how you actually think. Come on, it doesn't mean that we are all complete jerks...
Now about an issue with her real dad. Do you remember in the 1 episode she said that he should move on and stop torturing himself to get her and mom back? She wasn’t completely heartless and in her own way cared for him. And she was somehow right, he overworked himself to death
Yes, she never liked fried chicken, but she still pretended to love it to make her dad happy, she took care of her sister and was her only friend before the divorce. Well, even now her sister and her real dad are still her family, and we (and Injae herself) can't change that fact
Yes, she left with her mom. But Dalmi chose her dad and mother was left alone. Doubt that she knew that later on their relationships will become a total mess.
With time Injae had understood that parents won’t be together but Dalmi was clueless and continued to hope and probably that’s why Injae had become distant with her by then.
And what if she stayed with her dad.. isn't it would be an extra weight on her father and grandmother shoulders? Even grandmother herself was questioning if it would be better for Dalmi to follow Injae’s route.
Also, Injae’s look at the plane to the USA after fight with Dalmi wasn’t happy at all even though she had said so boldly “I’m not your sister” and “my choice is right”.
About her cold personality. Don't forget that for 15 years she was surrounded by cold unapologetic people without any kind of warmth and have to pay for her wealthy life by working extra hard (to the point of nose bleeding) without proper credits and ability to voice her concerns
Yes, she chose that life herself, but she was just a kid without proper knowledge of life. I'm still amazed that she didn't become total authoritarian boss and still treats her subordinates with respect.
Did you notice that she is more mean mostly to people who are unprofessional and take advantage of their situation (like mother and her stepbrother)?
After 5th episode it’s clear that she sees Dalmi as her equal opponent (even though Dalmi’s teammates questioning her abilities) and wants a fair competition. She knows her sister’s worth and (maybe I’m delulu) was somehow upset with poor results of Samsan thech program –
- her smile was forced and I didn’t see a victory in her eyes when she was looking at Dalmi (Props to Hanna btw).
And I’m curious about why Injae chose the same data as Dalmi.. She wasn’t into that idea at first but after girl from her team said “it’s fun to do it to someone who ditched you” she accepted it.
Is she mad that Dalmi didn’t leave with her and it’s her way to trigger her? Or maybe she actually wants Dalmi to win over her because Injae left her? What do you think?
Also, I want to point it out that Injae Is definitely feeling jealousy towards Dalmi. I don't buy her "I did a right choice" at all, she was questioning her own choice in the past and for sure still is especially after her fiasco with stepfamily.
And she keeps repeating the same phrase like a broken record over and over again. And it’s not something a happy with the result would do. But she has to play as completely satisfied one in front of Dalmi even though she "feels shitty".
I would like her to stop pretending and try to reconcile with sister but Injae is quite prideful thanks to her environment (her comment to stepbrother "stand straight, people looking at you") so it won't be easy for her to admit that she was wrong.
Also I’m curious about her relationships with stepdad. Is she afraid of him? She is always nervous when he is around. And what he actually thinks of her? Why he is here? Why she calls him dad… feeling indebted? There are still a lot of questions…
In conclusion, she has good and bad sides. Some of her actions are quite questionable and I won't sugar-coat her mean behavior but I can't call her a complete evil bitch (how some have already labeled her). Her character is grey and complex and there is more to unfold.
This world is not rainbows and butterflies so her character is really realistic and human like. One moment she is so vulnerable and the other moment her face looks like her heart is harder than a stone..
Hope writer will continue to explore her character well and won't make her just an evil antagonist for the sake of other characters to look good. Also hope fans will be more understanding to all characters w/o double standards.Let’s see how all of them will grow through the story
