Hey friends whose countries are about to go back into lockdown, this is a message from someone who is completing a second lockdown of over 3 months in Victoria, Australia.
It’s going to be really hard. There’s no two ways about it. But you can do this.

Remember your friends and family in high-risk categories. Those who are elderly, those with autoimmune diseases, those on immunosuppressants, those with pre-existing lung or heart conditions.
Do it for them.
Do it for them.
Build strategies for yourself: Regular video calls, small ways to make yourself feel good, ensuring you have food in the house. Take out is great, but try to cook every second meal. It’s okay if you don’t.
Be vigilant for negative coping mechanisms like overuse of drugs or alcohol. Be kind to your body. Take vitamin D, lots of people here are now deficient.
Go for early morning walks when you’re able with a mask. Explore new routes, find new places you’ve not walked before.
Play videogames, especially multiplayer or co-op. Read books and watch long series, immerse yourself in worlds not your own. Long live-play D&D campaigns are amazing for this! Go watch Fantasy High, Rivals of Waterdeep, Critical Role or the new Into the Motherlands.
Don’t let yourself retreat too much. The temptation is to curl in, but remember that you have to reach out, and by doing so you are actively helping your friends.
I failed at all of the above a lot, but it all helped. I love you a lot and I know this will be hard, but you can do it. My DMs are always open to chat.
