/ In KCMO south of the river, there are TWO final chances to vote in this election: Monday, November 2 at Union Station from 8am to 5pm (in-person absentee), or Tuesday, November 3 at any one of 77 polling places from 6am to 7pm (all registered voters).
/ If you are still holding on to a "mail-in" (no-excuse) ballot, it is TOO LATE to send it. Take ballot + envelope to the Election Board office on Tuesday: Union Station Suite 2800.
/ If you still have an "absentee" (excuse-required) ballot, it is TOO LATE to send it. Carry ballot + envelope to any one of the 77 polling places on Tuesday or Union Station on Monday. https://www.kceb.org/useruploads/11_3_20/11.3.20_POLL_LOG.FINAL.pdf
/ As of Thursday, KCEB reported 13% of registered voters had voted early (by mail or in-person). They're preparing for up to 75% total turnout. This could mean over 60% of registered voters may be trying to squeeze in to your polling place on Tuesday.
/ Because of the pandemic, only half the regular number of polling places are available. If turnout continues as expected there will be an average of 1,700 voters arriving at each poll with some locations closer to 3,000. Best case in 13 hours that's between 2 and 4 voters/min.
/ There will be 3 or 4 check-in stations per poll but probably only 2 or 3 touchscreen ballot-marking devices. Arriving at your assigned poll ready to request and fill out a PENCIL BALLOT is probably the biggest thing you can do to help keep the lines moving. Plan ahead:
/ Find your assigned poll and sample ballot at https://www.kceb.org/voters/status/ , print it, fill it out, and bring it with you. Request a paper ballot at your assigned poll and it should match exactly; simply copy over your marks and you're done. (It's not a test, this isn't cheating!)
/ Wear a mask, keep your distance, get in line by 7pm, and be patient with your fellow voters and poll workers. It's going to be a long day but remember everyone is there for the same thing: LET'S VOTE! 😷🗳️👍
