I worked on Sean Connery’s last movie, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. The scene where Quartermaine finds the Invisible Man in his cabin was shot on a set built in an indoor sports arena in Malta 1/
The set was tiny (built in a hurry after the main set in Prague had been destroyed in a flood) so most of the crew didn’t have much to do. The scene was shot at the end of a long and very, very hot day, so most of us decided to lay down on the arena floor and have a nap 2/
After about an hour, Big Tam emerged from the tiny cabin set, took one look at all of us sprawled all over the place, and declared “Good God! It’s like Stalingrad - bodies everywhere!” 3/
The third act of League goes completely off the rails - it was a famously troubled production, mostly because of the awful floods in Prague which devastated the city - but the first act (shot before the floods) is pretty good. 4/
