SDNY charged that CEFC offered benefits to Ugandan politician by proposing to "partner" with families of the politician.
earlier in 2017, CEFC has proposed to "partner" with family of US politician Joe Biden, as documented in Hunter Biden email and diagram.
on Aug 4, 2017, CEFC put $5 million into JV company account controlled by Hunter Biden, who appropriated the entire amount in subsequent weeks and months. This was 10 times the amount given to family of Ugandan foreign minister.

the only defense offered thus far by Biden acolytes is that Hunter's had right to carry on business in his own name. But when it comes to family of Ugandan foreign minister, SDNY had no difficulty identifying and charging bribes paid to families of officials. But not Bidens.
so why didn't SDNY charge CEFC and/or Bidens with corruption in relation to seemingly equivalent transactions?
the counter-argument that I would begin with would be that Bidens were out of office in summer 2017 when the CEFC bribes were paid to the Bidens. Two answers. 1/ Bidens had influence both in Delaware (where CEFC corporations incorporated) and in Congress. Hunter threatened
opposite party in one dispute by pointing out that he knew all the judges in Delaware. 2/ China takes long view on accumulating crooked politicians. After Mueller investigation was appointed, Joe was already planning his own presidential run. China was investing in future.
