Why I think identifying as a Xenogender is harmful to the Transgender community, a thread:
Xenogender is an umbrella term for non-binary gender identities that cannot be describe through their relation to masculinity, femininity, neutrality, or terms commonly used to describe human gender, and there's a lot wrong with that, in my opinion. 1/?
Trans people have fought for their rights and acceptance through years of hurt and suffering, and even now it's unbelievably hard to be accepted as Transgender. Being Trans has always been a burden, and personally I can't see it as a thing to be happy about. 2/?B
Being Trans has put me through a lot of hardships, and when I see people saying: 'Can someone pick a Xenogender name for me', like gender is something you can buy at the supermarket, it's ridiculous. 3/?
I don't see how anyone ever seriously walks up to their boss saying: 'Hello, my name is Mike, my pronouns are star/stars and I'm stargender, catgender, napgender,...'

The LGBTQ+ community is a very hated community even now. My problem is that we're overcomplicating things. We're adding gender after gender, genders that only one person uses, pronouns that no one knows how to use and making everything into a big mess. 5/?
How do you expect teachers to ever teach people about this? How do we get people to accept Trans people if we make us seem ridiculous? This is why'and I'm an attack helicopter' jokes come from and this is why people think being transgender is a mental illness and we're insane.6/?
In my point of view, to fight transphobia we need to start educating people, whether that'll be in schools or social media. Xenogenders make this literally impossible. 7/?K
Kids will never understand how being Trans works, what gender dysphoria is and why peoples sex doesn't correlate with their gender if people identify as cats or colors. 8/?I

Here are some prime examples. Gender is not something you can't just make up and make it your identity.
Why? Because it ridicules trans people, it goes against transmed beliefs (considering xenogender ppl don't transition in any way) and setbacks all the acceptance we've received
